Janardanan et al. (2016) used the GOSAT XCO₂ data to examine the anthropogenic CO₂ emissions from major continental sources across the globe by comparing the simulated and observed XCO₂ enhancements and found substantial underestimates in the bottom-up emissions inventory in East Asia.
