Meeting the 1.5°C Global Climate Challenge
If we act and choose now, we can avoid impacts that will last for thousands of years, so we need to work on decarbonization as soon as possible. The Paris Agreement, which came into force in 2016, is accelerating this decarbonization effort. The agreement sets a goal of limiting the rise in the global average temperature to 1.5℃ compared to pre-industrial revolution levels, and various challenges, studies, and research and development are being carried out to achieve this goal.
